DO NOT GIVE UP

I am writing through construction and a lot of noise at the moment, let me get my thoughts together...

Today I wanted to speak to you about never giving up, no matter what your journey is and what battle you have to overcome don't you ever give up!!!

By now you have all seen that famous scene by WIll smith in his movie The Pursuit of Happiness. I remember watching that movie inspired, inspired by life, inspired by circumstance, inspired by the human spirit.

See, no matter what life you were born into (and I say born because many of us do not choose our lives and circumstances) you have so much power, but you have not realize the things you can do to change your life and affect others.

When you know who you are, it is such a powerful thing, to the rest of the world it may be scary. Anyone that has a dream, just has a dream but when you begin to implement skills, talent, tools and manifest this dream into reality well, that's where your real journey begins. To often we are so easy to give up because it's impossible or we create this language that defines us because of who we believe we can or cannot be.

Where you are in life right now does not dictate who you become and where you will be. If only we could see the future?

A basketball play, Michael Jordan did not become who he is, he worked on his craft and dedicated himself to being a better player. Will Smith has said many times he worked hard to own his craft, he was so dedicated that while others sleep he worked. Denzel, yes the great Denzel Washington out does himself every time in every scene. If we pay attention to these two men we see the same pattern: passion, drive, hours spent perfecting their craft, dedication, motivation, and commitment. They worked under extreme conditions because they were dedicated!

I remember (I was a huge fan of Jordan bare with me) when Jordan played a playoff game and he was sick, flu sick. I remember thinking wow such dedication and commit to his craft and the team. Now some may say this is stupid but this was playoff, I beg to differ. When you worked hard your whole life to be the best, no flu is going to hold you back from being the best and still recovering the next few days. Not only did Jordan score the most points, he won the Championship with his Team. Nothing is greater than that, because he has said many times he failed, many times but never gave up.

It is important to lay one brick at time so your foundation is strong, you do not start off being great but it will come.

If you want something go get it, if you are struggling through school keep going, struggling at your job keep going. Please keep in mind that you have to put in work to perfect what it is you want to do. To often people think they can just wake up one morning and become the greatest at anything. Not everyone is that lucky and even the greatest works to perfect it.

I am sure I will touch on this in another post for now, I hope this inspires you
